Village Hall Heating System Instructions

For all users of the Village Hall

The heating system in the Village Hall is an efficient modern air-source system.

It is very simple to use, in fact the less you change the controls the better.

But please note it warms up GRADUALLY and SILENTLY.   It doesn't behave like a domestic fan heater, which you would hear and feel straight away.

The controls are next to the light switches as you enter the hall.  The Daikin control (on the right) sets the target temperature and the Airius control (on the left) operates a fan for circulating the air after it has warmed up.

Heating controls

When you enter the hall, the system is most likely to be Off, this is indicated by both controls being unlit.  The display on the Daikin control will probably show a temperature of 15C (this is set automatically by our own programming and you can ignore it).

To turn the system on, press the button top right on the Daikin controls.  The green light will come on and the display will be illuminated.  The heater works silently, you won't hear anything.

Daikin On

The display might now show a temperature of about 25C.  This is the TARGET temperature which the system will heat up to, now that it's On.  25C is a good target temperature for most users.  It sounds high, but bear in mind that the temperature sensors are in the ceiling, which will be warmer than floor level.

We provide a room thermometer to check the temperature at ground level.  If your own activity has specific temperature needs, we recommend that you bring your own thermometers and put them in different places around the hall, as you might find that the temperature varies a little in different areas.

Note that after 2 hours use, the heating system will turn itself off automatically (to safeguard against users forgetting to turn it off).  If you are still using the hall after 2 hours you will find that the Daikin control is unlit, meaning that the heating is now Off.  If needed you can just turn it back on again as before.

We recommend that you leave the target temperature at 25C for 20-30 minutes, especially if you are using the hall for the first time.
If you want to change the target temperature, use the outer O ring in the centre of the Daikin control.  Press the top of the ring to increase the target temperature, press the bottom of the ring to reduce it.

There is no need to use any of the other buttons on the Daikin control, please don't touch any of them as doing so might upset our own programming.

You can also choose to increase the circulation of the warm air by turning on the Airius control.  Just turn the black knob, the green light will come on and you will hear the fan straight away.  It's usually enough to turn it up to just 1 or 2.  Bear in mind that until the heating has started to take effect, the fan will initially just be circulating cold air.  So it's best to wait 10-20 minutes before turning on the fan.

 Airius On

On leaving the hall :-

If you have been using the fan, please turn it off on the Airius control.

The Daikin heating control will turn itself off automatically in due course, you don't have to do it manually.
